1820's Hand Hewn Barn Frame - Greenfield, IN

by Evan Divine
(Greenfield, IN)

The Blooming Grove Barn was built in the 1820's with all hand hewn posts and beams. Like most old barns, the roof began to deteriorate which led to extensive water damage and eventually the southeast end of the barn collapsed. We were able to salvage most of the lumber in the barn and this exceptional frame that was kept away from the sun and rain. The frame measures 14' wide x 24' long, and the posts are 15' tall with 8" rails that sit on top of the posts. This barn frame would make for a great lodge or part of a home. The posts and beams are 9"x9" and are made from beech, and it comes with beech log floor joists to make up a second story. The barn has been tagged, diagrammed, dismantled and is ready for pick up or delivery (it is stored in Greenfield, IN). Contact us for frame details and pricing.
