Barn Kits FAQ

Do you build the barn kits on my site?

Your barn will be delivered to you in kit form. From that point you may choose to build it yourself or have any qualified contractor build it for you. All of the difficult cutting and fitting is done by our crew before shipment. We don't come to your site and build your barn because we focus our time and attention on making the kits easy to assemble so that more people may enjoy the benefits of these beautiful barns.

Do I need a permit to build my barn?

In most cases you do depending on the use and local ordinances. Check with your local building department and zoning authorities to see if you do.

I don't see the barn I want here, do you custom design barns?

Yes we can custom design your post and beam barn for you and put together a kit based on your needs.

What kind of foundation do I need?

These barns can be built on most conventional foundations. The most common type used by our customers is concrete piers. Check with your building department to see what is required.

What kind of wood do you use?

We use White pine cut locally.

How much will my barn cost?

Lumber prices fluctuate and in order to give our customers the best price possible we quote our kits based on current prices.

What about shipping?

Shipping is $3.50 per loaded mile per truck with $900 minimum charge.  Some larger barns may require more than one truck.  We only ship within 400 miles of Central Michigan.

We do not ship to Canada.
