Chestnut Century Barn 80x60 - Salem, Ohio

by Ken Frye
(Ohio )

I'm looking to sell my century barn outside of Salem, Ohio. As you will see the previous owner neglected the barn and a recent windstorm brought in part of the wall and roof.

The house on the property dates to 1876 and I’m told the barn should be around the same period.

The frame is made of hand hewn chestnut that average 10x10.

Floor joists are circle sawn chestnut.
Some barn stone remains but have been replaced with cinder block in sections.

The siding is tongue and groove. Gray outside and brown inside. No paint, just patina. The roof is slate on the rear and steel up front.

There are also two graineries.

Due to the condition I would like to see the barn dismantled before weather makes it worse.

Please feel free to call or text at (seven 2 four) five 99- two 9 0 three for more pictures or schedule an appointment.

Price? NEW
by: Stager

I think I've gone over your page and you say you want to sell. But I don't see a price. Are you wanting to offer for free?

I'm a big fan of this old wood and would love to see it reused in a new home(s). Is that a typical application? What is the cost comparison? Thanks for any helpful replies!
