Historic Gothic Arched Roof Barn (disassemble/move or buy w/ lot) - Westerville, Ohio

This barn is shown in the book "Americanization of the Family Barn" by Pamela Whitney Gray. It would cost a small fortune to put up a barn like this on your property so take advantage of this opportunity while you can. It is a 1930's 2 story barn with a lower level and a 35-foot clear span upper level. Most barns have beams and supports throughout the middle. Not this one! It would also be perfect to construct your own 4 story custom home on your property like you see on "This old House". The only restriction is your imagination.

The actual barn footprint is 40' X 30'. The barn wood and beams are the real deal with full dimensions of 2" x 10" and 2"x4" before the modern era of reduced wood dimensions and most of the wood is solid oak. The roof trusses are actually curved boards bent by hand the old fashioned way and bolted together. This is similar to a Louden Machine Company Dairy Barn from Guelph, Ontario with the famous king ventilation system and bird proof door hanger. However, their brochures do not show the pure arched gothic roof on this barn. As near as I can determine, the appearance looks more like the Zeman barn in Iowa or #403 from the Gordon Van-Tine Company which is a mail order precut barn kit. Building a barn like this from scratch would be very time consuming and labor intensive if you had to measure and cut each individual piece of wood. The curved roof is steel.

The market for rustic barn wood has exploded recently and many old barns are finding their way into homes around the country. That could be the fate of this barn or it could actually become your permanent barn or even your permanent home. It is in that good of shape.

A rare opportunity not to be missed. 15 years ago, I was offered $35,000 for the barn and decided to keep it so the grandchildren could enjoy it. Now I am considering selling it or the 1 acre lot upon which it resides so that someone can convert it into a house without needing to move it.

Hello, I am very interested in your barn, if it is still available?
We are doing a wedding venue, and would like to have it up and running by spring. We would disassemble, and re-construct.

Thank you,
