Cleanup
by: Dennis

Dalton,
Please contact us about the cleanup of the barn site in Sidney that your people are about to complete the dismantling. I've tried calling, text messages and email with no response. The timbers are not to leave the site until the cleanup is completed to our satisfaction!

Bandits by name, Bandits in business
by: Simon

First thing to say is that Dalton, one of the partners has sent me a text which reads "If you slander our name I will be forced to contact legal council. You can't extort someone like that". I will preface this by saying I am not interested in extorting anyone nor saying anything bad about someone's business for the sake of it. I just want others to be aware of how I have been treated by 2 of the partners.

I will keep this as brief as possible, as there’s a lot to it. Back in December I first spoke to Barnwood Bandits who expressed an interest in my barn. Mike initially came on his own and then arranged for him and Dalton to come together. On New Year’s Eve, they text me an offer of $3000 which I rejected, given this is an early 20th Century bank barn with huge hand hewn beams. The next text said the maximum they could go to was $10K cash. However, I rejected that too.

On March 16th I contacted Mike again and asked if he would consider $15K. He said Dalton and him would talk about it and on March 20th came back with: "Dalton and I would like to come up again in person to evaluate the barn one last time. We will bring 15,000 in cash with us, and see what we can do." After arranging a date (April 8th) and a time (around 11.30am), I took the time off work to be home for them. On texting to find out where they were after they were an hour late, I was told that Mike meant the following Friday, April 15th.

So, I again took time off work to be home. At 1.30pm I text to find out where they were and if they had an ETA. I had no response. I text again at 3.59pm, no response. After texting, calling, emailing and messaging on Facebook and receiving no response over the next week and a half, I eventually left a negative review on Facebook. Within 2 minutes I had a call from Mike claiming that he had a family tragedy which was why he hadn’t been in touch. I apologized for that but asked why someone else hadn’t been in touch. He said that he hadn’t handed it over to anyone, so nobody else knew about it. Strange, given Dalton was coming with him!

We eventually agreed for Mike to come on Saturday April 30th and that morning I received a text from him at 7.22am saying "I will keep you updated, and let you know when I am on my way today". After texting at 3.31pm and receiving no response I called Mike at 5.08pm to find out what was going on. Apparently he had been to another barn that day and had no signal so was unable to contact me. Needless to say, he didn't show!

Monday May 2nd I eventually get a call from Dalton, who proceeded to basically call me a liar and said that there was no way Mike would ever offer $15K, that he was just a school kid and didn’t have the authority to do this. He then proceeded to tell me I had miss interpreted everything and there was no way they would pay this for my barn. Once I had finished talking to Dalton and having told him I would let everyone know my experience with them, that’s when the threatening text messages started, threatening me with lawyers. Unfortunately for them, I have everything on text, so can back up everything I am saying.

So in summary, their communication is awful and the way they deal with customers is awful. If you’re trying to sell your barn, I would stay well clear.

bad business
by: margret

These young boys came out and took my husband's barn down, they did not clean up there mess! It looks as if a tornado had come through and destroyed it. They left alot of lumber from the barn. Never cleaned anything up. This was a horrible experience. We have to now pay someone to come out and clean everything up.
