52 X 40 English-style Barn near Meaford, ON

The wooden structure is in good condition (foundation is slowly failing). Steel roof is in good condition. Probably built in last 1/4 of 1800's and has been maintained.

The timber-frame beams are hand-hewn. The siding, cut with a circular saw, is original or has been replaced over the years - it is all greyed. Some of the original square nails remain, some hand-made hardware.

Most of floor beams are definitely hemlock; may be some other woods. (This land still has some large hemlock, beech, maple, and ash trees on it.) Structure is connected with wooden pegs. Granary in one corner but original flooring is unknown as it is covered with plywood. Built-in ladders.

Paced out at approx. 52'L X 40'W X and 15'H to the eave of the roof. 705-293-0489 (no answering machine)
